From the door, there are excellent walking and cycling opportunities, with the 23 mile Cinder Track just down the road and the clifftop Cleveland Way Trail just a little further. The nearby traditional coastal resort of Scarborough is a delight, where the family can enjoy the classic seaside fun of building sandcastles, paddling in the sea, donkey rides and tackling candy floss, as well as trying your hand at surfing. Stroll along the promenade, climb up to the castle ruins, or wander around the pretty gardens, including Peasholm Park. The fresh sea air will whet your appetite and there is plenty of choice, with cafes, bistros and good restaurants to tempt you, along with renowned fish and chips.
